Helena Judge Ellis

Helena Judge Ellis is the founder and Managing Director of Biobanking Without Borders, LLC, a consulting company providing biobanking expertise through times of institutional transition, development and growth. She has nearly 30 years’ experience in human subjects’ research gained at Harvard School of Public Health, Brown University, and Duke University and has focused on the field of biobanking since 2001. She is an experienced professional and subject matter expert in biobanking best practices, and has contributed to the development of the International Society of Biological and Environmental Repositories' (ISBER) Best Practices. She has extensive experience in the field of longitudinal biobanking studies, clinical research biobanking, biobanking LIMS, standard terminology, eConsent, and the ethical, legal and social issues related to biobanking. She serves on the Biorepository Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists. To date, Helena has consulted for academic medical centers, the National Cancer Institute, non-profit research foundations and start-ups to help them achieve their biobanking goals.
